Hello my dears, another week with Calo and Sis
What a stressful week this has been!!! Unbalanced books and an unbalanced mind I think.. started out on Tuesday with workmen at the house..
Sis goes...James' is chopping down another tree..worried about whether it's going to fall on the back porch overhang..should I tell him to go ahead?
Yeppers I give him the go ahead, back again with he is really worried about it falling on the house , are you sure it is ok? Yeppers, tell him to go ahead I am sure you can supervise with no problem.
Within 5 mins, I get another one. Hunter Dave has arrived.. oh boy Calo is wondering if the guy had the nerve to wear shorts? What shall I tell him to do? I thought you made a list!! I had to smile as I never thought Sis would ask me what to do with a man lol...she soon came up with a list - which was basically to check under every sink. so what does Sis tell him to do.. you got it.. Check her plumbing lol...Now I am getting reports on the tree, the sinks and then Sis tells me she is getting a headache.. Never thought I would hear that with two men around Sis would be complaining of a headache !! Apparently, my son Calvin, was also around and decided Sis was in need of some spiritual uplifting and started playing Krishna Das' sanskrit chant music for her. Yeppers, Moni, as a result of his Santé Fe days he has broadened his taste in music. Now we have Sis again.. I've got Hunter Dave on his knees and he wants to know if he could go down the crawl space... she writes with exclamations marks. Oh boy I can tell this is going to be a long afternoon. After a bit I get all smiles on the next Instant Message.. I had to give him a hands on session he came up off his knees full of cobwebs! I am wondering who enjoyed more lol. After work I was supposed to drop off house samples but decided I had better get straight home.. by then everyone was just finishing up and Sis had been spiritually unlifted - whether it was the music or the men I dare not ask!
Now as Kathy was out Thursday and Friday, Sis came to work with me and oh boy.. I think the spirutal uplifing was still in full force. To cut a long story short, she had the men at work eating out of her hands.. and running around supplying her with food, conversation and attention.
Friday afternoon found me still working on my reports when my friend, Maureen called to invite me out that evening. After working late I found myself tired and exhausted.
To help me relax, Sis, bless her decided I needed a facial.. now did I really looked that stressed? After being covered with this icky stuff, I heard the chop chop of noise in the kitchen. Bless her, Sis was making me a treat,, well so I thought.. my treat was two chunks of cucumber to place over my eyes.. now I really thought I must have looked bad. To completely relax me the next step was a bubble bath soak while listening to music. Now Calo put her foot down here.. as Sis wanted to play ya ya music aka chanting music.. Calo's turn to get a headache ... we changed to the music of Rock 'n Roll Circus and sang to the oldies. I have to admit after all this I was beginning to relax so off we went to Quarters bar and grill.
We were waiting for Maureen and stopped to star gaze when a gentleman joined us..umm friendly place here. Now in we all go, and the kareoke is just starting. Maureen's friend, Patty joined us and I have to tell you she has a wonderful voice and sang a nice assortment of songs: First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, Crazy, Tonight the Heartache's on Me, The Song Remembers When. Our waitress, Shannon, seemed to be a hit with a few of the young men there. It was a very mixed age group and soon everyone was chatting and requesting songs. Now I have to tell you, Patty's friend, Todd walked in and Sis' little eyes started to flutter... definitely a knee bender. I enjoyed his version of Neil Diamond's I Am I Said, while Sis enjoyed his company as she edged in closer and kept me at arm's length. Yep you got it.. she was hands on and you could see why she is nicknamed "Hotlips." All the guys had lipstick kisses on their cheeks while Todd, having whiskers, has his on his collar. By the end of the evening they were lining up to make sure they were not left out. Now while all this was going on, Calo was having her own conversations and soon she had them lined up but not in the way you are thinking.. I might be a Sis, but nothing like SIS !!! Noooo. Calo loves people watching and as I was taking notes for this little report, well it stirred interest and people started stopping by and introducing themselves. I met some really neat people. Scott, an ex-marine, who fired his wife for a dog, gave me his weekly job schedule. As it was Friday he had to leave to go and clean his bathroom and kitchen.. Calo had to admit she was not that self disciplined to leave a good party to go clean!! I do not think we would have got along on Wednesday's laundry night do you? Andy, also ex military, stayed loyal to his girlfriend, even when one of the cute blondes talked him into dancing and was well away showing him her body language. He surprised me with his choice of songs. He went from You're Nobody Till Somebody Loves You,, to At a Medium Pace, and for this one, even Sis stuffed tissue in her ears claiming she had not heard such bad language before!! His smile and charm would make him a target for any young lady. After dancing with Eddy, Andy told me he was hurt as I had not asked him to dance, so of course I had to oblige and swing my hips with him.. um those belly dancing classes are paying off. Bless him, by the end of the night he was taking notes on me and gave me tonight's quote. Oh who is Eddy?, ,well Eddy is 25, works for General Electric in North Carolina building jet engines and was home for the holiday weekend. He has been Andy's friend since preschool, He sang Neil Diamond's, Sweet Caroline, and our conversation really become deep after I commented on his Tshirt which had the words "Get Lucky." As we spoke, our age difference did not seem to matter and even when a friend was after him, he asked for more time to chat with me.. not sure whether it was the darkness or the facial he asked me for my phone number stating he really wanted to keep in touch. Now I should not really make light of this as I believe I was meant to be there as you could feel the connection. We shared so much in such a short time, it is like there is unfinished business. More dancing followed and then Ken decided to visit with Patty and join our conversation. If you want to know anything about steel, Ken is your guy. He claimed to be half black from the waist down but declined to prove it to Sis. With all the chit chatting, Maureen caused silence when she exclaimed "It is not very comfortable sitting with your legs in the air!" I immediately looked for sis, and felt a sense of relief when I found Maureen was only complaining about the height of the stools and not being able to touch the ground. I wondered if this had anything to do with the fact she was on her second glass of wine!! Now I was not about to let Maureen go without acknowledging her birthday this week and so I asked Patty to sing "Happy Birthday." Yeppers, turned out to be another unbirthday celebration. I had a wonderful time and rolled into bed at 2:45am. When I woke to a phone call, 4 hours later, my bed looked as if I had not moved. Needless to say Saturday we did not do much at all.
Sunday was family time with all sons together and a family cook out over at my sis in laws. As Sis felt I was well rested we went to the Labor Day dance so we could work off a few calories from dinner.
Today is Labor Day here in the USA and for me it is a day off, well at least from the office. I have said my goodbyes to Justin and Jessi who should be back in Lansing by now.... I have yet to find out what Sis and son Calvin have planned for me!!! At the moment Calvin is watching the US Open tennis and listening to INXS, good stuff! I know Sis wants to go shopping, wonder if she needs a new tube of lipstick lol...bless her. Sis will be returning to England on September 22nd so I am sure the next couple of weeks she will have a list for me!!
Time now for a cuppa and to wish you all a good week! Take care and keep those smiles.. bye bye for now.. Love Calo xox
